Abuse Handling Policy

This Policy explains how Hostonce receives, reviews and responds to reports of unlawful, abusive, fraudulent or harmful activity involving Services hosted or domains managed through Hostonce. The action available to Hostonce depends on whether it provides the hosting, domain registration service or another part of the affected Service.

1. Reporting abuse

Submit an abuse report through https://hostonce.com/report-abuse or email [email protected]. To help Hostonce investigate, include:

  • The affected domain name, URL, IP address or other precise location.
  • A clear description of the suspected abuse and why it is unlawful or prohibited.
  • Relevant screenshots, complete email headers and body, logs, transaction evidence or other supporting material.
  • The date and time of the activity, including the time zone.
  • Your name and contact details, unless applicable law permits an anonymous report.

Reports must be accurate, submitted in good faith and limited to information reasonably necessary for the investigation. Multiple reports about the same matter should remain in one email or ticket thread.

2. Initial review and investigation

Hostonce records and assesses each sufficiently detailed report to determine whether it concerns a Hostonce Service and whether action is available. Hostonce may request clarification or additional evidence from the reporter, customer, provider, registry or competent authority.

Reviews consider the evidence, severity and urgency of the conduct, applicable law and policy, Hostonce's technical role, and the risk that an action could affect legitimate content or users. Submitting a report does not guarantee a particular outcome.

Hostonce may acknowledge receipt and provide a tracking reference. Urgent threats are prioritized.

3. Urgent and serious abuse

Hostonce may restrict or suspend a Service without prior notice where there is credible evidence of phishing, malware distribution, botnet activity, child sexual abuse material, a financial scam, an imminent threat to life or safety, or another serious and immediate risk.

For a compromised Service or a less urgent violation, Hostonce may notify the customer and allow a reasonable time to remove the content, secure the account or otherwise correct the issue.

4. Registration-data inaccuracy

A report of inaccurate domain registration data should identify the domain and the information believed to be inaccurate. Hostonce will acknowledge the report automatically or through an Abuse representative.

Hostonce may ask the Registered Name Holder to verify or correct the information within five days. Failure to respond or provide accurate information may result in suspension of the domain where permitted or required.

If a domain is suspended, the Registrant must provide satisfactory evidence that the registration data has been corrected before reinstatement. Hostonce aims to inform the reporter of the resolution within 10 days after receiving a sufficiently complete report.

5. Phishing, malware and 419 scams

The Abuse Team will review the reported domain, URL, evidence and surrounding circumstances. If a legitimate site appears compromised, Hostonce may issue a remediation notice and suspend the affected Service if the issue remains active.

Where malicious intent is confirmed or the risk is urgent, Hostonce may disable the affected Service immediately. Reinstatement requires satisfactory proof that the malicious content, credentials, software and underlying security weakness have been addressed.

Hostonce aims to inform the reporter of the resolution within 10 days after receiving a sufficiently complete report.

6. Trademark and domain-name disputes

A claim based on trademark rights should normally be pursued through the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy, the Uniform Rapid Suspension System or a court of competent jurisdiction. Hostonce does not decide private trademark ownership disputes.

After receiving proper notice from an approved dispute provider, Hostonce will apply the domain lock or status required by the applicable procedure and will provide registrar information where lawfully required. A proceeding does not automatically require the hosted website to be disabled unless the governing rule or a separate abuse ground requires that result.

Hostonce will implement a final binding decision in accordance with the governing policy, including the applicable 10-business-day court-filing period under the UDRP.

7. Copyright and other content violations

A copyright or content report must identify the exact material, its location, the rights or rule relied on, and the requested action. A statutory takedown notice must contain the information required by the applicable law.

Hostonce may notify the customer and request removal of the material or valid evidence of authorization. If no adequate corrective action or response is received within 72 hours, the affected content, hosting account or domain may be restricted or suspended where appropriate.

Hostonce aims to inform the reporter of the investigation result within seven days after receiving a sufficiently complete report. Complex legal disputes may require additional time or referral to the proper authority.

8. Actions Hostonce may take

Depending on the evidence, urgency, Service and applicable requirements, Hostonce may:

  • Request information, verification, security remediation or removal of specified content.
  • Restrict access to content, an account, a port, a server or another affected Service.
  • Suspend or terminate hosting or related Services.
  • Apply a domain hold, transfer lock or other status permitted by registry or registrar policy.
  • Preserve information or cooperate with a valid legal, regulatory or law-enforcement request.
  • Refer the matter to a registry, upstream provider, payment provider or competent authority.
  • Close the report without further action where the evidence is insufficient or Hostonce lacks the ability or legal basis to act.

9. Customer notice and reinstatement

Where appropriate, Hostonce may share the substance of a report with the affected customer so the allegations can be investigated or corrected. Reporter contact details will be disclosed only where necessary or legally required.

A suspended Service may be restored after the customer provides satisfactory evidence of remediation, verifies required information and addresses the cause of the violation. Repeated, intentional or severe abuse may result in permanent termination.

10. Legal requests, privacy and records

Requests from law enforcement, courts, regulators or other authorities must identify the affected Service and provide sufficient proof of authority and legal basis. Hostonce may request clarification or formal legal process before preserving or disclosing information.

Information connected with an abuse report is handled under the Hostonce Privacy Policy and may be retained for investigation, security, dispute and legal-compliance purposes. Hostonce may be unable to disclose internal findings, customer information or enforcement details.

11. Misuse of the reporting process

A person must not submit a knowingly false, misleading, abusive or repetitive report. Hostonce may reject or close such reports and may take appropriate action where the reporting process is used to harass another person or interfere with lawful Services.

12. Contact

Submit abuse reports through https://hostonce.com/report-abuse or [email protected]. Keep all follow-up information in the same report thread so the investigation record remains complete.
